Can anyone tell me the location of the sub buoy or any other names for it? I have looked on charts and found nothing. I am planning a Montauk trip in two weeks and would like to try it out- I hear the fish get stacked up like cord wood there!

If you look at your chart, look a little south of due east off the point and look for a place labeled "southwest ledge, breaks in heavy weather" the bouy there is the sub buoy.

I know where SouthWest Ledge is. Has anyone ever seen the conning tower of a sub while fishing there?

The subs go in and out on the surface so you not only see the conning tower but the whole sub.

porbeagle, saw one one time from a slightly different angle, on a flight from Westerly to Block Island. You cannot mistake the propwash for anything else, unreal.
