Beach populated with clams attract stripers. I am curious how the stripers eat clams. Do the stipers crack the clam for inner? or do the stripers eat the whole clam with the shell? Last season, I caught one striper, I found a stone shaped like a clam inside the stipers's stomach.

THEY SUK THEM - THEY HAVE THESE LITTLE KNIVES.

Couldn't resist...

My take & I'm no authority...
Bass acutally feed on what's known asstormclams. These are clam that are knocked loose from their beds during storm activity & end up being tossed against rocks 7 such whicheventually shatter the shell.
I don't believe they eat clams whole. I would think they would have trouble digesting the shells. Although you never know. I've found whole lobsters in their stomachs. Would think a clam shell would be more difficult to digest then a lobster shell.
Could be wrong.........
Gents??
