I have become a little confused on the migratory habits of the striped bass.
Please would you sparkies give me an insight as to when they go & where?

When in particular do they spawn and is there any truth that they use the south shore back bays for this in addition to heading up the hudson, Cheasepeake etc?

Thanks.

bass spawn in fresh water places, hudsun and chesapeke, there are 2 strains of bass. typical bass like 55-65 degres and i tyhink there movement has alot to do with that as well as other factors like bait being present.
for the most part hudsun bass end up in the north shore and chesapeke bass end up from fire island inlet to montauk.
just in general, there are exceptions to this.
