Looking for a casting rod for stripe bass. purchased shimano Tallus Blue Water Spinning Rod.

TLS70MHA 7'0" Medium Heavy Fast 15-30 - 1 5.0" 13.0" Tip+7

Received today. But it's too heavy. I am returning it.

I am going to use Shimano stella 5000 SW high gear using 30LBS braid line.

Any recomendations?

Are you going to cast poppers, jig or use baits with the rod ?
If you want to cast poppers with the rod, a long rod is necessary.
Otherwise, you can use shorter spinning rods.
For stripers, you don't need fancy, high quality rods. Even Ugly Stick spinning rods can do the job.
