If it's the lure I'm thinking of (similar to a freshwater spinner bait) I've got one too. Plan on using it in the back of the Nissequoge River. Should work well there.

Bit difficult to toss from a south shore beach into the wind.

Like a soft plastic bait - is what it sounds like. Shad bodies, fin-s etc.

They're good in the river too - as long as there's no blues present.

Is that what you're talking about? Because - you could just change the weigth of the head. If it's one of those "hook already in the body - no additional assembly required ones" - try adding some split shot to the line ahead of the lure to give it a little more weight. Becoming a big fan of split hot these days. Many applications. Kinda the "duck tape" of the fishing world.

Although - if it's only 1/2 oz - you'd have to add a lot of additional weight for south shore.

Probably better in the back bays/inlets down there.

Now I know what you're talking about. I've seen these in Cabalas catologue. Bought one over the winter. Not sure if they're called Storm Eyes or not - but they're identical to what I see in the picture above.

Slight difference in that in addition to the single hook out the back - there is also an "eyelet" for lack of a better word that comes off of the stomach & allows you to add a treble hook should you so desire.

I figure the single hook is sufficent & intend to fish it that way.

Come in assorted colors & sizes. A little pricy for a soft plastic bait (large ones run around 3 to 4 dollars a piece as I recall). Definately only using it if I'm postive there are no blues around. Blue shows up - kiss the lure & your 3 bucks good bye.
