Made 6 drops today between 85 and 65 ft south of East Rockaway Inlet -- no life whatsoever, except for a lonely conger eel. I would have gone deeper, but the forcast said it was supposed to blow, anyway it was good to put the new power thru it's paces and get some break-in time on the clock. We'll see what happens this weekend. The surface temps on the beach were 37 degrees, out at 65ft it was 41.5 out at 85 ft it was 40 and then got colder to 38.5.

That's all folks... Capt. Fred

No doubt about that Capt. Fred. The cod fishing at Montauk has slowed down during the last week, again to the cold water runoff from the unexpected warm weather. It looks like one of those blackfish season where the fish will bite once they get into the shallow water.

XXX,
We tried the same thing as you a week and a half ago and friends of ours made 4 drops on Buoy 4 this week and not a bite. Water temp was 33-34 right out of Debs last week. Only bite I know of is ling in the Mud Hole area. Friends of mine was also out at the 20 mile wrecks recently and had nothing. Anyway once the water warms first bite should be at the Rockaway Reef.
