Back in the late '70's there were so many clamboats in the Great South Bay you could almost walk across the bay from boat to boat. I clammed out of Babylon in high school and college, it was a great time. 25 years later I'm back on the bay and looking for a spot to dig steamer (piss) clams. I seem to remember a spot in the cut south of Bergen Point. I thought I found it this past Saturday but only found shells. Doers anyone know if there are any left out there and where to find them?

You can dig steamers at democrat point. You go on the bay side at low tide. You will see where the water was and you can dig them with your feet or hands.
