I have a Star rod that I love(best balance and weight of all my rods). I believe it's a model 23 (7ft). The only problem is the reel seat gets loose after playing a few fish. Capt Neil was exactly right in one of his comments about my hands loosening the lock nut. The question is can I an get an identical or similar blank, to either make a rod or have a custom one made with the reel seat reversed?.The base of the blank is about 7/8 of an inch. Thanks for any help.

Just cut off the old one & replace it with a new one "upside down". Or better yet lose the thing all together & go with cork tape & tape on the reel.

I have been trying to find the Star rod web site.

I would contact Star Rods and ask them to build you a special order rod with the reel seat reversed. Especially since you like the rod so much. Otherwise you would have to find out who makes the blanks for Star Rods. Then you could have one custom made.

I don't believe Star Rods has a web site. Their corporate officers were in Miami Fl. but they have moved much of their operations offshore.The most common blanks used by star rods is Gator glass another Miami based company- Mud Hole among others carry the gator glass blanks

Hi Parttimer,I might be wrong,but the blanks are sold to Star by a company called Marlin and they are located I believe in Florida (Miami?)......Hope this helps,Davey

I'm going to have to second johnB the blanks that star rods uses are gator glass, which are one of the most rugged glass blanks around in my opinion.
