I just got a pair of 80STW's and i need a set of rods. not sure if i want to go with the short bentbutt or the strait standup butt

I personally never got used to the bent butt.But I did buy a couple so I can interchange my straight for bent if someone shows me the right way to use one.As far as a blank goes I would use a Calstar Baja Boomer with either Aftco wind-on's or a set of Everol Unlimited

Either way make sure the person wrapping the rods is familar with doing the triple wraps needed on an unlimited stand-up.

No complaints and I've been using the same rods for about 8 years now.

80s for standup are pushing it. I have a set of 70s on short-stroker bent butts, and dred long battles with them.
