"squid catching?"

does anyone have any good ideas beside squid jigs for catching squid in the canyons.Last trip every live squid got whacked but it was more of a challenge to catch the squid than the tuna.

See this site for some photos of squid jigs. They work great; I've caught probably 20 or 20 pounds of squid on jigs like these at night in the Sea of Cortez. The squid attack to jig and get stuck on the little barbs and the come right off once in the boat.
