I got the same setup, can't say there is any downside to this combo. You should be able to cast an amazing distance & feel anything that nudges whatever you're offering. The Loomis rod may be a bit lighter but then it would have cost you about another $60-$100 over the Ben Doerr. I dont think you will have any regrets.
