I like to fluke fish using high low rigs with a bucktail like feather on top and a plain hook on the bottom. the tackle shop i go to stopped tying their own rigs a few years back, with this one specific feather that always outfishes the rest. I have saved all the old feathers as the old hooks rusted out and have started trying to tie my own rigs.
I am tying a loop in the bottom for the weight and then tying dropper loops ~ 6" and 18" above the weight, finishing with a barrel swivel another 6-12" up.
I am not sure what knot to use to attach the hook line to the dropper loop(the leader is snelled to the hook) I have done some looking around and started using a perfection loop (I think that is what its called) for an easy connection.
Is that the correct knot to use for attaching a hook to the dropper loop? I have tried cutting the dropper loop and trying to snell the hook directly (i always end up with not enouth line to the hook), however it is much more difficult.
Thanks
