most of us will be storing our rods/reels away for the winter in the next 2-3 months. Would you pros be doing threads on storage and reel maintenance in the future? I for one would be apprecitive of any info you guys might have. I tried taking a reel apart to service it a couple years back and after i was done had some spare parts left over. Had to take it to a service guy with a very red face to undo my "work".

LJN54...that was one of the many topics we mentioned that we will discus when Togmaster and myself first started this board. And it will probably be something that we will get into in late December. We will go over some of the products available, for cleaning and maintenance, and also try to give you some tips on servicing reels from Newell, Shimano, Pro Gear, etc. And do not be embarrassed if you have to bring a bag of parts to your reel man so that he can put it together. Most knowledgeable reel repair men, will simply piece the reel back together. It really is no big deal. So keep watching the board, and in a month or two, bring up the topic, and which reels you need to service, and we will start a thread on this subject.

LJN,
We've all gotten to the 'bag of parts" stage at one point in our lives. Actually, iy isn't the worst idea to take your reels to a good service center for a complete workover every so often. I've taken reels to Sea Isle and Beckmann's ( I'm sure there are other good shops as well) after a few years of hard service and they've come bak like new. A small investment in keeping your expensive tackle in tip-top condition.
