Fished south side of the point Sat. morning (6:30-8:00) for two fish 30" and 32". Took the advice of a friend who's been there all week and kept walking west away from the crowds right in front. Paid off. Only fished for about an hour or so and I picked the fish within the first half hour. Big pods of fish were working west and moving in and out. My friend landed a few fish in his Kayak and had a blast. He had smaller fish and blues mixed in. Would have been there earlier in the morn (and had more fish apparently they were hitting hard right at sunrise) but sitting in front of the fire at hither hills I always wind up having many more beers then anticipated and I kept hitting the snooze button!!!! Be back earlier next weekend.
Everyone was fishing a similar plug(purple reddish color). I had my fish on a white pencil and everyone seemed to switch over. People next to me started hooking up too but I saw blues landed. Lucky me I guess. Go Yankees. Oh I forgot. I knew Montauk was good for drowning away my sorrows. Have fun people, and stop stealing Jiggle's fish.
