Anybody want to tell a city slicker a surf bass spot on the south shore where i do not need a permit. some place where I can go before sunrise. And Hempstead harbor surf fishing I hear the fishing is very good. Tired of the hit and miss at Brezzy Point

Go to the State Park office by the water tower (just to the west) at the end of the Meadowbrook Parkway and get a "night parking permit".
Need a NYS car registration and about $30 and you can fish all the open beaches from Jones to Moses.

That's very helpful information. Do you know if this permit works for north shore locales, too, like Sunken Meadow, for example?

the state permit will also work for sunken meadow...

you cant drive on sunken meadow beach. and its only 8 bucs to get into the state park.

permit is for night parking only if ya go in the day you pay the fee...
