Do all of my surfcasting from the Robert Moses beaches but after coming up with nothing for the South Shore Classic this weekend am looking for other places to go where you do not need a 4 X 4. I know Smith's Point is another area but where else? Are any of the Babylon Town beaches (Cedar, Tobay, Gilgo, Overlook) accessable without a truck? Anything in Shinne**** area?

You can fish either jetty at Shinne**** Inlet without a 4x4. At the east jetty, there's a parking lot inside the gate and it's about a 200 yard walk to the jetty. On the west side, you can drive right up to the rocks.

You need a Suffolk County Night Fishing pass to park after dark.

As long as you got the Night Fishing permit, there is tons of access. You just have to be willing to walk..... and walk .... and walk and walk some more. Tobay has it's own permit

most of dune road has parking lots here and there. just dont park between july 1st and sept 15th town only!!! but after that there are a ton of spots. point lookout (jones inlet) is a cool spot. just drive around the cost line.

You can try Jones Beach West End 2 or Field 6.Your nite fishing permit will let you park after dark.

Dune Rd. Parking

Are you saying that after Sept. 15th, you will not be fined for parking anywhere along Dune Rd. access points?

Park at East end. Walk East about 1/2 mile. Nice point and deep water. I would try and stick with the flood to outging.
