I swear by Berkley Gulp line of power baits but this past week I picked up a roll of Berkley's Vanish Fluorocarbon line after reading about the virtues of fluoro lines.

Did some freshwater fishing yesterday and had an absolute nightmare of a day because of this line.

I never in my life had such a hard time with line. I had at least a dozen bird nests during the course of the day many of which I had to completely cut off.

I was mixing it up between fishing crankbaits and presenting soft plastics on the bottom. Either way I ended up with the same mess.

I will never use it again and am extremely disappointed after spending $15 on this roll. At least I have some left for using as a leader material.

Dumb question.

How did you spool it on your reel?. It is not as flexible as mono so if it twisted as it's being put on, that may be why its nesting on you when you cast.
same problem with power pro braided, tried different ways of putting the line on the reel, had more of a problem with spinning than i did with conventional, most of my conventional casting reels now have braided line with a topshot of floro, found its easier to control the spool when casting by applying more pressure with my thumb than adjusting the knob on the side to put more pressure on the spool or adjusting the level drag(Int.975LD),more of a trial and error job, but braided line is the way to go.
