Something Wrong with these Filets ?

Hey boarders ,
I was lucky enough to slam into some stripers out at moriches inlet recently, bang, bang, bang sssiiiinnnggg, poles bent in half type of action ,lotta fun except one thing . Kind of strange but when we fileted these fish up the filets had some kind of icky parasite looking streak running down the gut,it was like hard really small corn niblets,i've never seen anything like this and was wondering if any of you more experienced anglers could help explain.Needless to say the filets have not gotten eaten. Thanks

parasites

I've seen the same thing in largemouth bass....they are parasites. I'm told that once cooked the filets are fine....but I know I would find it hard to lick my chops over that meal.
