best-laid plans of mice & men
Thursday afternoon: Charlie the mechanic calls to confirm he'll work on engine Saturday.
Friday afternoon: enroute to Cape Cod, call Charlie to ask if I should drain the gas (thinking I had < 10 gal) from the tanks prior to his servicing engine. He starts complaining about how many carbs he's re-built since Ethanol replaced MTBE, but our conversation is truncated by a cellular dead spot up on I-95.
Saturday evening: leave message for Charlie asking him to let me know what issues he uncovered while servicing engine (didn't realize how poor the weather was on Saturday down here)
Sunday morning: leave Wellfleet, MA at 0930 to arrive home @ 1400. objectives: have my daughter's Optimist sailing pram inpsected for safety @ 1500; launch SORTIE at 1700 hrs.
good news, bad news: arrive at my father's house at 1500 hrs to retrieve pram, but he's just finished spraying new gelcoat on it

So can't load it into my wagon. safety inspection will have to be done NEXT Sunday afternoon (guess what's also happening that day).
Plan B: call boat hauler at 1530 and ask if he can launch my boat earlier. "uhhhh, no Skip, high tide isn't until 10:00"
don't you love it when a plan comes together?
bottom line: new launch date 1300 hrs Wednesday (God willing), Opti inspection 1600 hrs 22 June
