Did evreyone get what they thought they were gettin? Or mabey a surprise, My wife got me a really nice painting of the Montauk light for the living room, a small back-pack set up from starbucks coffee, my mom got me a breathable rain suit from cabelas, and my son (7 years old) got me a multi fishin tool complete with a compass, tape measure, and what looks like a level.
So dod you get what you wanted?

A brand new sand spike, an assortment of plugs,"Billy the Greek", and a wilderness survival kit( I wonder if thats a hint). Thanks Bassman909 for telling my wife what I needed ( I guess I'll have to wait till next year for the Van Staal...LOL). Thanks to the guys at Causeway for their help and selection.

Upon request, I got the big tackle bag from the surf caster. Now I can finally fit those 3 and 4 oz plugs. It's thought out very well with one exception. In the solid plastic lure containers, there are no holes to allow water to drain out. I simply drilled a small hole in each, but they should consider this flaw for future production

So... What did you get?

My wife gave me a Shakespere Tiger 6'6" Ugly Stick and Mom and Dad got me Hodgman neoprene waders. My best fishing partner (my 5 1/2 yr old son) got me a surf bag and a 1 oz Kastmaster which he insisted to the salesman in Sports Authority was the right size despite trying to be told to get a smaller one!

Deadly dick

Actually it was my 10 year old nephew that got a tackle box with assorted lures including a deadly dick. That caught the interest of the women and led to quite a few laughs. Of course all the guys claimed to have one already.

LIFETIME FISH'N BUDDIES

I introduced my 5 year old triplett sons to freshwater (Lake George) fishing for a full week last summer where they caught and released (they caught - I released) dozens of Small Mouth and a couple of surf fishing trips over the summer to Manasquan where I let them fight some small blue fish. Needless to say they were hooked...so for Christmas I got them some nice little Diawa set ups and my Brother bought them each a tackle box filled with lures, hooks, rubber worms, led etc. By far this was, according to them, the best gifts Santa ever brought. They can't stop laying out all the stuff in there tackle boxes and asking what lures are for what and then re-organizing there boxes. Anyway I got the greatest gift - ther smiles and a whole future of fishing with these future great anglers who ask me every day since Christmas when the reservoir is open for fishing.

This reminds me of the greatest Christmas gift my father ever got me. When I was about 8 or 9, he got me 2 custom rods – 1 6’ conventional boat rod and 1 7’ spin rod. Both were built by Augies and caught many fish. Unfortunately I lost the conventional rod due to a boating accident, but that’s another story.

Did any one not get what they thought they were getting? Or whats worse than that is when someone knows you fish and gets you something you would never use, and you just gotta smile and say thanks.

This is a very touchy subject... I am still a little perplexed with some of my gifts...

They know I fish hard and that's all I think about... but what do I get? 1 expensive "golf" book plus a Golf Mag. subscription.... What the ****???? What is that supposed to mean?

However, a few friends gave me some really cool fishing goodies plus a "Fly Fishing in Saltwater" subscription (renewal).

Because they say I buy too much allready, and that I would probabally return it(Not wanted or needed) and no one wants to hear I allready have one of those.
