Depends on the season!!

Hey Al,

I guess I'm a year rounder, but the whitetails have my full attention at the moment. During hunting season I'm only a part time fisher. I did run a small spinner through a nearby creek the other day for a few small brookies. Beautiful little jewels in their spawning colors.

On my way back from the woods on Mon. I noticed high water levels in West Branch Res. All the inlets are swollen I'm pretty sure there are nice browns holding in the mouths. It looked so fishy I almost put down the bow/gun for an afternoon before coming to my senses. Think I'll try it after dark this weekend. I'll post how I made out.

Anyway, they'll still be there when the water gets hard and the tell tale flags start flying on the tip ups.

P.S. Many of the salmon pics didn't come out (**** disposable cameras) but, I did get a few decent pics. I'll try to get them posted soon. Not sure when since I don't have a scanner. I'll have to track some one who has one down. Tight Lines. BT

re: Who R You?

I have to admit I prefer warm weather fishing! But no matter how cold it gets
as long as I'm catching I never get too cold! If they aren't biting, I tend to get colder! See formula below...
fish+ >fish = <cold!

After the boats put away in Dec I ususally start hitting the fresh water scene looking for those sea run rainbows and make a run to Fla. or the Carribian.for something different. Have to be ready for the mackrel in March.

Crazy Al,
It's steelhead season, my favorite time of year. I fish reservoir browns in Putnam/Westchester county from April to July and then pretty much wait till steelhead season. I'm trying some saltwater and fished quite a bit this year, including false albies in Rhode Island, which is my next favorite thing. I fish all year, except august, though the wife doesn't care for it too much. I have a new baby, so I'm going to be limited to once or twice a week for some time now.
