good news.. and bad news for snappers

the good news is that their are tons of them in the water! TONS! but they are too small to catch. They are all over and their are millions of them, but they are only the size of a small spering. In a month they are catchable with a light rod and popper.

Daughter Fishing

Up here in Huntington there still on the very small side. However, our bottom here in Huntington Bay is paved with porgies. And nice ones at that. Last week I had the two kids, 2 and 5 on our association dock. With tandem rigs we bailed them non stop on the slack low! Can't imagine what it would be like on a moving tide. Released all the fish for tommorrow. Give Four Winds bait and tackle a call and ask them if there are porgies in Huntington Harbor. If so theres a fishable dock behind the Halesite fire station at the end of Rt 110. Hope you do well. I get excited to see other fathers getting into taking there kids fishing. Good Luck

Trout Fishing

Here's my plug again for daughters and fishing. I take my daughter to a preserve, this way, she should catch and will have a blast. This place has cafe and restrooms. They charge by the pound but its worth it. If you need challenge, use lure. If you need more of a challenge, use a hook with NO bait!

Kind of like buying fish at the market and the fun is thrown in for free!

About 2 hours from the Whitestone Bridge.

Hope this helps.
