I happen to be a very serious aquarist and so know quite a bit about snakeheads, genus "channa," all of which inhabit parts of asia. There are many species, the largest of which can grow to four feet. They are very hardy and aggressive, eating virtually anything. They also have the ability to "walk" on the pectoral find for short distances. They are a common aquarium fish, and people in China also eat them. If you want more information, try an aquarium site like www.fishprofiles.com or www.aquariumfish.net, and look for red snakeheads (Channa micropeltes), which are the most common species in aquariums.
