Two thumbs up...

Very good food. Wife is from Texas and she even gave it a thumbs up. We will be in Austin Texas in two weeks and take our annual trip to a family style BBQ called the Salt Lick. Now thats real BBQ. If ever in the Austin area give it a try...

I've had BBQ out west as well as down south. I used to live down south. Smokin' Als is the best I've had. Great food, and HUGE portions. Good luck getting in there on a weekend though, ha ha. Your best bet is to get there early on a weeknight, or go to lunch there. The place is that packed !! But unbelievable BBQ

Crabman,

Pulled pork is my favorite as well. I get that, or the triple meat combo platter is around $20 and then you can get the pulled pork, brisket and whatever else you like (chicken, sausage, ribs).

I went a week or two ago and got their "works" sandwich which was awesome too. Pulled pork, pulled chicken and brisket, on a grinder roll, topped with fried onions, bbq and melted cheese.

the Ribs, Ribs and more Ribs combo is good to, especially if you can't decide if you would rather have baby back or st Louie, plus it comes with the monster bones, you'll make this face when they drop the plate on the table
........... It looks like something out of the Flinstons.

And don't forget to try out the different bbq sauces before you order, or, order the ribs dry and have a little of each.

Man, this place is like meat heaven........... Now I got myself all worked up, I'm gonna have to go there now too!

Check out the web site if you want to know what other combos they have

And my girlfriend also likes the rattlesnake sauce if your bbq to have a bit of a bite. Ask for them to put it on your ribs. I think it's on the table too for adding to the other meats.

One thing about the ribs, yes, they are good, but I was a bit surprised that the baby backs don't fall off the bone. Most other times I get them from places like Good Steer in Centereach, or Dek's in Rocky Point, the meat is very tender. At Al's it's not as, but it's still very good. I'm going to have to try these monster ribs next time.

Oh, and the sides are all great too. Good, sticky cheesy mac and cheese instead of soupy cheese sauce wanna be mac and cheese.
