I have a question about attaching teasers to a dropper loop on a rig. For example, many guys fish a bucktail on a leader with a dropper loop about 12" above it while fluke fishing. There is typically a teaser or small 1/4 oz bucktail attached to the dropper loop.

When you create the loop, about how big do you make it, and do you attach the teaser directly to this loop like you would a sinker on a similar loop? Or do you use another short leader from the loop to the teaser to get the teaser away from the main leader? Thanks for any advice.

EITHER WAY IS GOOD

The two ways I do mine is (1) A short 2" dropper loop and then add about 10" of leader material to a snelled teaser via a perfection loop. Very easy to change rigs with a loop to loop set up. Or (2) A 6" to 8" dropper with a 1/4 ounce bucktail "looped" right the bucktail.

Some rig the teaser like you described, a droppper and a teaser through it like a sinker. I've also seen a dropper with a another leader like you described. I found for me, the best is when you make a dropper loop (about a 8" loop), then cut off one end of the dropper by the knot, then tie your teaser onto the dropper end. I've found that the best length for me is about 4" after you're done. You must have some length on the loop so you have enough leader to snell the hook. Just me.
