I wanted to know if anybody could explain the difference between silicone and alconite guides. Also I read that alconite guides are used for spinning and dual purpose, which I guess means either spinning or conventional, and silicone is used for conventional. I have a custom spinning rod wrapped with silicone guides. Is that a bad set up? Thanks for the help.
