Is there a way to get up inside there like a harbor, inlet, or river ect. I see what looked like a breakwater from a distance. I guess that's what they call Wading River. Is it navigatable? I got caught there with a violent storm approaching from the west a few weeks ago and was wondering if I could have gone in there to ride out the storm. Thanks, Mike

Just dont boat at Shoreham beach!! The sign they have that says "No Fishing" also says "No Boating". Not exactly sure what the "No Boating" means, but it is on the sign.

The Breakwater is NOT the Wading River Entrance (See Photo)

The little creek to the right of the breakwaters is Wading River. There's where the town ramp is, believe it or not. Nowhere there to tie up.

Breakwater leads into LILCO. There's nowhere to tie up and I don't know if they'll hassle you anchoring in there. I did it one night around 30 years ago when I was fishing off of Edwards Avenue and a good Nor'wester kicked in and I didn't feel like getting the crap pounded out of me heading back to Mt. Sinai so we spent the night in that protected water. The plant was under construction so we weren't hassled.
