Turns out that I've only read 83 on the List of 1001 Books You Should Read... Wow, not even 1/10 of the list! I guess I'm a barbarian...

I'm happy to report that more than 1/2 of the ones I read were NOT for academic purposes...

There are classics all over that list: toltoy, Dostoevsky, flaubert, etc...

I'll have to go back and look again, I didn't see any of the classics. O.K. I see them now, I didn't realize that the list was broken intot he century they were published, but Homer and Caesar still aren't on there.
