With a little over two weeks left before the shark touraments start does anyone have any offshore news on recent shark trips this past weekend?

Sharkin last weekend

Last saturday we did our first shark trip of the year out of Barnegat. Found the makos but the water temps were very low (54),and they were not agressive at all. Missed 2 hookups. They were mouthing the baits very lightly. Best hit of the day was on one of the floats We'll be at it again on friday

Will be running out of Moriches this weekend to some of my hotspots 40 miles out. Why that far? thats where I last caught my macks. I'll let you know how I do.

Went out yesturday to the butterfish hole. It was hard to get the baits passed the bluefish, but managed to catch one small blue shark and missed another hook up. water temp 61.5

South shore mako

Just read the fish reports on BayPark fishing station.The first mako on the south shore of L.I. was brought in late Sunday afternoon.It was a 192 lb mako,taken on a bluefish fillet near the Texas Tower.Things should start heating up just in time for the tournaments.

Shark Report

Fished 35 miles SE of Moriches inlet on Sunday in 58 degree water for 6 blue sharks with some pushing 200 lbs plus. Loads of bluefish everywhere. good to hear about the first Mako. Good Luck to everyone.

fISHED THE 20 FATHOM CURVES OUTSIDE OF MORICHES ON SUNDAY, THE BLUES ARE IN BOTH BLUE SHARK AND BLUEFISH, SHOULD CRANK UP THIS WEEK !!!!

watch as a 317 pound mako was weighed in today at montauk marine basin.the boat was the resolution.i have no other details i was not part of the crew,just watched as it was weighed in.

went out for the first shark trip of the year.we got out at 7:00 out of moriches headed se 145dg 12mi 120ft of water.lots of blue fish in slick had some positive thinking but no makos.the water temp.58dg.ended up blowing in to 112ft never liked doing this but i pulled up lines and draged the chum 5miles south to 125ft.glad i did had sharks in slick 20min.caught 2 released.

First mako

Capt. Frank of the "Gramps Crew" out of Senix marina fought and landed the first mako of the marina and area. The mako weight 236 pounds. Congradulations to Capt. Frank and his crew.

Bay Park fishing station reported sunday a boat took a 253 lb thresher and dropped another thresher maybe 100 lbs heavier at the Glory hole.
