You can do it in your boat but I strongly suggest you go out with veteran sharkfishers several times before atempting it on your own. Especially in a center conole. Best advice I can give you is NEVER gaff a shark(especially a maco) in the gill area as this will cause them to turn toward you and possibly jump into the ****pit. Gaff behind the dorsal fin area and take your time getting them in. Unlike tuna, you want to tired them out as much as possible before bringing them boatside. If you need to know more let me know.
