Yes you can do it from a center console but You never know you might attract out there. I had a small mako jump into my ****pit many years ago when of my crew stuck it with a straight gaff. We had a bridge to hide in. No such luck in a small rig, its in the boat with the shark or the chum slick. Neither one is a great option.
