Sea Otter V headed out of our Groton location Friday night with a light crowd for its first night bassing trip of the season. Terrific action in the beginning with plenty of bluefish to go around and a bunch of bass over the rails.

Mike Holden was out celebrating his birthday in true fisherman fashion. He had more to celebrate after winning the pool with his 27 pound striped bass.

We sail by reservation - Friday and Saturday nights at 6 PM using live eels for bait. 860 739-1882

Daytime trips include 7-1/2 hour Bass & Blues on Fri, Sat & Sun.
[b]Fluke/Bass Combos [/B]run on Mondays and Thursdays from 7AM-4PM.

Look for more trips to be added as the season moves foward.

Sea Otter IV is also avail. from Montauk as well as Groton for private charters of 1-23 passengers.

Week of 6/9
Sea Otter V sailed from Groton this week for bass and blues. A trip midweek provided some decent striper action with a mix of blues and some less than welcome dogfish. John nabbed the pool striiper at 13 1/2 pounds.

Father's Day provided a good bite on stripers and a bunch of blues to keep anglers busy. Pat o'dell scored his striper lmit and Miguel Gallarragua took pool honors.

Over on Sea otter IV, Mike Pehrsson and friends sailed at the beginning of the week with Dimitrious Donas nailing a nice 32 pound striper. The guys dabbled in Fluke and had a fair bite going with Mike taheny taking that pool with a 4 3/4 pounder.

Sat 6/14
The Imperial Sportsmen's Group came out with tons of fluke action, plenty of shorts to weed through but some decent keepers in the mix. Vic scored an 8 1/2 pound flattie.

Call the office at 860 739 -1882 for an updated fishing schedule as more days are being added to Sea Otter V's trips. Also Sea Otter IV is avail. for charters of 6-25 from Groton and Monntauk. Ask about rates and dates.

Fluke - Tuesdays & Thursdays (Start. July 8th) 4:30 PM-8:30 PM

1st come, 1st serve on daytime trips. Plan on arriving at least 20 minutes prior to sailing time w/lunch in hand!

Fishing Report

6/16
Saturday saw a mix of stripers and bluefish over the rails throughout the day. Weeding through some shorts it was John White who managed to pull out the pool winner at 18 pounds.

Our new schedule has us sailing 9am-3pm 7 days a week for stripers and blues. Call about fluke starting 7/8!

Sat night live eeling for stripers also brought some bluefish over the raisl. Andy Egri managed to make the boat and win the pool courtesy of his 27 pounder. Sea Otter V sails Wed, Fri, Sat nights at 6PM by reservation.

Sea Otter IV sailed a private charter with Ed Wozencroft and buddies. The guys managed a great quality evening with 4 fish between 28 and 25 pounds and the pool winning striped bass at 44 pounds!

Sea Otter Iv is avail for 1-25 passengers, private charters from either the Groton, Ct or Montauk, NY location.

FISHING REPORT

FISHING REPORT

6/27 Sea Otter IV headed out with a private charterwith Tom Zultowski and the crew from Encon. trolling umbrellas the guys had some decent action going on stripers wth some blues mixed in. Switching gears they spent some time fluking. Tough bite but they managed to score a few keepers around 4 pounds.

6/28 Phil Iorio and friends chartered Sea otter IV. The guys trolled for some very good action on bass and blues, weeding through plenty of shorts. Also got into some fluke with aroung 16 keepers boated to 6 pounds.

Sea Otter V also sailed today. Diamond jigging the open boat customers managed some decent action on striped bass and blues. A fair number of keepers made it over the rails with John winning the pool with a 15 pounder.

Sun 6/29
Tom Genovese and friend were out celebrating a birthday today on a half day morning trip. Trolling produced some nice bluefish action with a bunch of small bass keeping it interesting.

Sea Otter V now sails as an open boat oput of Groton, 7 days a week 9-3 for stripers and blues. Call to make reservations on Wed, Fri and Sat nights for striped bass w/live eels!

SEA OTTER FISHING REPORT

Fri 7/4 Nick Marchetti and family were aboard Sea Otter IV celebrating the 4th with some night eeling action. Fair bite with the guys weighing in 3 fish around 35 pounds.

Sat 7/5 Parrish Witherspoon chartered Sea Otter IV with some family and friends for some mixed bag action. Plenty of bass and bluefish action, with lots of short bass. The gang also brought some nice sea bass over the rails and ended the day with some fluke. Plenty of short fluke back over the rails.

Sea Otter V got into some bass and bluefish action with just about every drift providing busy action. Using bucktails and jigs, the pool winner John had an 18 pound bass to his credit.

Sea Otter V continues to sail from Groton 7 days a week at 9AM for stripers and blues. Tuesdays and Thursdays start this week for fluke at 4:30. Reservations are a must for striper action with live eels on Wed, Fri and Sat nights at 6PM. Call the office to book today. 860 739 1882.

SEA OTTER FISHING REPORT

Thurs 7/10
Afternoon fluking aboard Sea Otter V provided some fair action for anglers. Donell landed the first keeper amidst some decent action that yielded plenty of shorts too. The anglers also put some porgies over the rails.

Fri 7/11
A private night bassing trip aboard Sea Otter IV gave Marcus Negron and pals some early trolling action and then switching to eels it turned out to be Marcus's night. He nailed a beauty at 47 pounds!

Sat 7/12
Bluefish action was on the rise today with poles bending on diamond jigs. A bunch of stripers hit the deck on bucktails.

Crew trips this week saw some mixed bag results with a decent porgie bite and some keeper fluke to 6 pounds.

Sat 7/12 Pete Bachus chartered Sea Otter IV with some pals today. they enjoyed some mixed bag action that included some nice fluke to 7 pounds and some sea bass to 6 pounds. They also put some bass in the boat to 20 pounds.

Sun 7/13
Aboard Sea Otter V today there was some very good fishing to be had. Good numbers of blue fish over the rails. Striper fishing was also decent with Billy, Ed and Capt. Joel scoring their limit but Billy Tadiello was the pool winner.

Sea Otter IV also sailed a private charter today. Tommy Alexopoulos and buddies took advantage of a good porgie bite with some nice jumbos for the table. They managed to put some nice bass in the boat as well with a couple tipping the scales over 30 pounds and the pool going at 35 pounds. All aboard to take advantage of a good bite. The Open boat - Sea Otter V sails 7 days a week from 193 Thames St. in Groton CT. for stripers and blues . Afternoon fluke and night striper trips are also available. Sea otter Iv can accomodate your private charters of 1-23 passengers from either the Groton location or our Montauk location.

SEA OTTER FLEET - FISHING REPORT

Tuesday 8/15
Private charter aboard Sea Otter IV for Bob Gull and friends today. They mixed it up bottom fishing for fluke and sea bass action. Fish to 6 pounds.

Tuesday night
Taking advantage of a decent bass bite, Mike Holle was out with his buds for a private charter on Sea Otter IV. Using live eels the guys had some nice quality fish over the rails. Three went over 30 pounds with their largest tipping the scales at 35 pounds.

Wednesday 7/16
An afternoon charter aboard Sea Otter IV was a lot of fun for Mike Botto and his family. The kids had a great time with some fun fluke action and sea bass. The largest fluke weighed in at 6 1/2 pounds.

Wednesday twilite - Dave Wong, his boss and family headed out. The gang mixed it up with a good bottom fishing bite. Fluke and porgies over the rails for all.

Thursday 7/17
Sea Otter V hit the grounds for some fluking action this afternoon. Derek Wessel scored the pool with a 4 pound fluke.

Fri 7/18
Sea Otter V headed out for striper and bluefish today. Neil scored his limit of stripers. Mark won the pool with a 21 pound striper.

Sat 7/19
The V was out again today for bass and blues. Steady bite early in the day and then at days end. Bill Tadiello scored with a 15 pound blue fish. The anglers also had a good porgie bite going to 3 pounds.

Sea Otter IV sailed a private trip today with Fred Boehrer and the Imperial Sportsfishing Club. Very good bite with over two dozen keeper fluke boated to 7 pounds. Some nice sea bass hit the deck as well.

Sun 7/20
The Geidraitis family and friends headed out aboard Sea Otter IV for some cod action. No disappointments for a trip that came in early due to the change in conditions. A couple hundred ling over the rails and around 50 keeper cod to 20 pounds!

Sea Otter V is not available as an Open Boat on Wed 7/23.

Tues 7/22
Pete Martorama and the guys from work were out aboard Sea otter IV today. Mixing it up, the gang got into some fluke and sea bass. They nailed their limit on bass with weights between 20 and the mid 30 pound range.

Wed 7/23Keith Lanning headed out with some friends with Capt. Joel aboard Sea Otter IV for some shark action today. The guys started and ended the day with some striper and bluefish action. Highlights included the 25 pound bass that Kevin scored. Birthday boy Danny brought in a small legal mako that they let go. The guys also let a blueshark go.


Fri 7/25Sea Otter V had some excellent fishing today on the 9am-3pm bass & blues trip. Non-stop action from start to finish. Plenty of poles bent on blues and bass with Leslie Douglass as the pool winner courtesy of her 18 pound striper.

Sat 7/26Tim Carroll and friends were celebrating a pals impending nuptuals today aboard Sea Otter IV. Focusing on a good bass bite the guys brought over a dozen keepers over the rails to 37 pounds.

Over on Sea Otter V today, the open boat patrons enjoyed a very decent bass and bluefish bite. Big Frank Kilanowski took top honors in the bluefish category with a 17 pounder. He beat out Bob S. for the pool. Bob's striper tipped the scales at 16 3/4 pounds.

Sun 7/27Sea Otter V left the Groton dock again this morning. Weather conditions were less than ideal but there was lots of bluefish action and a fair amount of short bass in the mix as well to keep patrons minds off the rain.

Sea Otter V is not avail for the daytime bass and blue trip on Sat 8/2 but we are still taking reservations for the night trip w/live eels at 6PM.

Fishing Report - week of 8-4/8-10
Tues 8/5
Pete Martorama and the guys from Islip were out again for a private charter aboard Sea Otter IV and had a very productive day. Caught some nice size porgies in the morning and also had some decent sea bass in the mix. They switched into a good striper pick boating fish from 25 pounds to 35 pounds.

Fri 8/8
Awesome action aboard the open boat Sea Otter V today. Plenty of fish keeping rods bent. George Story was our pool winner with a striper at 17 1/2 pounds with Carlos from MA taking second with a 15 pound striper.

Sat 8/9
Sea Otter IV had Julie Benkovsky and her family out this morning for a private trip.The gang trolled a bunch of blues and landed bass to 25 pounds.
The afternoon charter was a bachelor party courtesy of Dain Lee. The guys brought in a bunch of sea bass and had some nice fluke to 7 1/2 pounds.

Sea Otter V sailed today with a tougher bite than the day previous. The bluefish bite brought fish to 11 pounds over the rails.

Sun 8/10
Sea Otter V sailed today with a picky bite. High hook was 6 blues and 10 year old Maddy was the pool winner. The young sharpie reeled in an 11 pound blue for top honors.

Tues 7/22

John Michalik and family chartered Sea Otter V today from Groton and had a terrific trip. Tons of action, awesome bluefish bite. Michael caught the first keeper bass at 16 pounds. Julie was high hook with 18 blues.

Sat 8/2
Livingston Electric chartered Sea Otter V today and mixed it up with sea bass and fluke. terrific sea bass acyion with Pete nabbing the pool winner at 4 1/2 pounds. On the fluke side there was good action with Joe Williams bringing a 7 3/4 pounder over the rails and edging out Linda's contender at 7 1/2 pounds. Nice fish, great company and fun day.

Sun 8/3
Sea Otter V was back to an Open Boat today sailing bass and blues. Good action all day with Dean taking pool honors with a blue fish at at 15 1/2 pounds. Joshua and Bill were the bass catchers today.

Fishing Report - Week of 8/18

Mon 8/18
Kerri Hammond and co-workers were out celebrating the end of summer aboard Sea Otter IV.. The 1/2 day trip guys mixed it up for a sea bass and fluke bite. Fluke to 5 pounds.

Tues 8/19
Bob Gull put in a trip aboard Sea Otter IV. The gang had a very good fluke trip. Paul took the pool with his biggest fluke to date at 6 1/2 pounds.
Fri 8/22
Howard Breindel and families were vacationing and took the kids out for a 1/2 day charter aboard Sea Otter IV. The kids had a blast reeling in fluke. Playing catch and release the gang had fish to 6 pounds.

Aboard Sea Otter V today the open boat crew mixed it up with stripers and bluefish. Steve's bass got edged out for the pool winnings by Carlo's 15 1/2 pound bluefish. Lots of bluefish action today.

Fri night aboard Sea Otter V's night bass with live eels a winner was made by Bill Pesca. He hauled in a 24 pound striper to take the pool.

Sat 8/23
Aboard Sea Otter IV Jim Goolsby and buds from Roslyn Highland F.D. came out and mixed iot up on the Full Day Sea Otter IV privatye charter. The guys brought in around 15 keeper fluke to 7 pounds. They also landed some nice sea bass.

Sea Otter V open boat had plenty of bluefish and a fair amount of short stripers keeping anglers busy. Wade was the pool winner with a 16 pound bluefish.

Sun 8/24
Decent action today abord th eopen boat Sea Otter V. Dean stole th epool with a nioce 18 pound bluefish.

Sea Otter V- Groton PORGIE TIME!!!!!!

Week of 8/25
Thurs 8/28
Pete Mueller and a bunch of friends charterd Sea Otter IV today.Lots of mixed bag action on stripers, porgies, blues and fluke. Great start with triple header keeper stripers and ended the day with double header keeper stripers.

Fri 8/29
Sea Otter IV hosted Joanne M. and her family for their yearly end of Summer fishing trip. The kids kept busy reeling in a mess of porgies and bent some rods on sea bass as well.

Aboard Sea Otter V today a decent bite provided Herb with the pool winning bluefish at 15 pounds. Both George and sonny pulled in some keeper stripers as well.

Sat 8\30
Sea Otter V sailed bass and blues from Groton today. Good action today on bluefish and stripers. Ed nabbed the pool striper at 28 pounds.

Sun 8/31
Craig Freedman had some family aboard Sea Otter IV for a half day private charter this morning. Mixed bag action with plenty of porgie, sea bass and fluke fillets to go around.

Aboard Sea Otter V today there was plenty of action all around. Amy Buckley scored the pool bluefish at 16 pounds. Wendy took the top spot for her keeper striped bass at 14 pounds.

Mon 9/1
Tim Parsons chartered Sea Otter IV today to celebrate a pals pending nuptuals. Very decent fluke bite for the last day with fluke to 5 pounds. The guys also brout sea bass and porgies opver the rails. switching to stripers they had a good catch to 31 pounds.

Sea Otter V has a new schedule out of Groton for the month of September. Friday, Saturday and Sundays come aboard and bend some rods on Porgie action - 8AM-2PM. Mondays it is Stripers and Blues from 9 AM-3PM. No reservations needed on daytime trips. Call for nite bass reservations on Fri & Sat nights at 6PM.

SEA OTTER Fishing Report- Week of 9/8 GROTON/MONTAUK
Tues 9/9
A private charter aboard Sea Otter IV today provided a terrific mixed bag for Bob Gull and friends. Terrific sea bass bite in the morning. The guys then switched to striped bass where they scored their limit after which they were releasing fish in the 30 pound range. The biggest bass of the day tipped the scales at 36 pounds.
Wed 9/10
Krispy Kreme Nagel and pals had an excellent mixed bag fishing trip aboard Sea Otter IV today. Lots of big porgies over the rails mixed in with some nice sea bass. Switching gears to stripers the guys kept plenty busy with fish tipping the scales at 30 pounds plus.
Thurs 9/11
Pat Folen with family and friends were out aboard Sea Otter Iv for a half day trip. They trolled some nice stripers and kept it interesting with a decent bluefish bite.
Sat 9/13
Earl Harris headed out with some friends aboard Sea Otter IV. Awesome porgie bite to start things off where they also got into some sea bass. They then pulled up some stripers and ble fish.
Aboard Sea Otter V today, Casey and the Great Gun Angler Fishing Club fished with Captain joel for a mixed bag day. Plenty of porgies and some nice sea bass over the rails. Mike nabbed a nice 5 1/2 pounder. Switching to diamond jigs the guys kept rods bent on striped bass and bluefish action.
Saturday nights striped bass trip with live eels aboard Sea Otter V was a good time. Good start to the evening, a little slow during slack tide and then great action on the outgoing tide. George Storry was high hook with 3 keepers. Steve Kreuser of Canterbury nabbed his limit as well as scoring the pool winner at 25 pounds.
Sun 9/14
The open boat trip aboard Sea Otter V for porgies was not a disappointment. Plenty of porgie action with Brian Johnson taking the pool with a nice one just shy of 4 pounds. After getting their fill of porgies out came some diamond jigs for some good bluefish action and some short bass.

Please note that Sea Otter V's open boat schedule out of Groton has some terrific Porgie trips going at 8AM on Fri, Sat & Sun. Mondays are 9AM striped bass and bluefish runs. Pack your lunch and head on down. Sea Otter V is NOT available for the daytime trip on Sat. 9/20.

Sea Otter V- Groton PORGIE TIME!!!!!!

SEA OTTER - WEEK OF 9/15
Mon 9/15
Tough weather conditions made for a tough bite for Robert Wright and crew aboard Sea Otter IV for a half day private charter. Using live bait the guys boated stripers in to the mid twenty pound weight.

Thurs 9/18
Just shy of limiting out on stripers, the Haley family crew and Greg C. nailed some beauties on live bait to 35 pounds aboard a private charter on Sea Otter IV.

Sat 9/20
Some tough sea conditions to contend with for Phil Iorio and crew aboard Sea Otter IV today. The guys put a few stripers and bluefish into the boat. They rounded out wioth a mix of porgies and stripers.

Sea Otter V out of Groton today was chartered for a private bachelor party fishing trip. The Secal family and friends brough in plenty of bluefish and nailed a bunch of keeper bass. Bob Jr. the pending groom to be was high hook with 3 keeper stripers.

Sun 9/21
Good day for Rich Bowers and crew aboard their private charter aboard Sea Otter IV. Using live bait they had stripers to 40 pounds. They also had a mess of porgies and sea bass.

Aboard the open boat Sea otter V today out of Groton it was porgie mania. Great day with plenty of fish with some nice jumbos to 3 1/4 pound. Also had some sea bass in the mix. The NY boys went back over the border with lots of take home.

The porgie trips run out of Groton, Ct 8AM-2PM, Fri, Sat and Sun. Stripers & Blues run on Mondays from 9AM-3PM. All aboard - no reservations taken.

The weather combined with forecasts cancelled a bunch of trips this week but those that did get out were not disappointed.
Wed 9/24
Dr. Matt Clemente flew some family and friends in from Albany for a private charter aboard Sea Otter V out of Groton. Great trip with plenty of bluefish boated and around a dozen keeper bass to 15 pounds.

Sun 9/28

John and Brian Minsky and friends chartered Sea Otter IV for a great bass trip using live eels. The guys nabbed their limit early to 34 pounds and were back at the dock before the seas got too rough.

PORGIE TIME!!!!
Aboard Sea Otter V today a very good porgie run. Some nice jumbos over the rails and Big Frank Kilanowski took the pool with his chubby 3 1/2 pound porgie. Anglers heading home with their limits!
SEA OTTER V IS AVAILABLE FOR PRIVATE CHARTERS AS WELL FROM GROTON!!!!

Please note Sea Otter V will not be available for porgie trips from GROTON on Fri and Sat 10/4 and 10/5. Sea Otter IV is available for a private charter from Montauk on Sun 10/5.

Week of 10/6-10/12
Mon 10/6
Charlie Nicotra and coworkers headed out aboard the Sea Otter IV for a private charter. Very decent bass bite by way of live bait and jigging. The guys were not disappointed with weights topping out in the upper 30's.

Thurs 10/9
Rich Lemke and crew took the Sea Otter IV for a full day mixed bag trip. Using the combinatiopn of live bait, diamond jigging and trolling the guys brought in a bunch of blues and around 16 keeper bass to the 30 pound range.

Sat 10/11
Rudy Kastanek and the guys from work headed out for a private charter today aboard Sea Otter IV. Lots of nice sea bass over the rails. Good numbers of stripers as well coming in to 32 pounds.

Sea Otter V ran an open boat porgie trip today. Incredible non-stop action with plenty of take home for all.

Sat night Gary Wetmore chartered Sea Otter V for some night eeling action. Gary scored his limit as did Tom who also nabbed the pool winning bass at 27 pounds.

Sun 10/12
Gary Kollesar was able to reschedule his charter aboard Sea Otter IV today. Nice striper action with their limit taken to 30 1/2 pounds. They also made good work of some nice sea bass to round the day out.

Sea otter V headed out with the open boat porgie trip from Groton. Once again unbeliveable scup action with some nice jumbos over the rails. 11 year old Evan took the pool with a 3 1/2 pound porgie.

Please note the Sea Otter V open boat schedule switched gear to Tog on Friday 10/17 - 8AM-2PM from the Groton location.
No trip available on Sat 10/18.

Week of 10/20-10/21
Mon 10/20 & Tues 10/22
Steve Petrecca was back for his annual two day private charters aboard Sea Otter IV. A great two days with plenty of stripers. Highlights on Monday included the 42 1/1 pound striper that Bruce diamond jigged. Tuesday they brought over 35 keepers over the rails on live eels with Jimmy nabbing the biggest at 35 pounds.

Fri 10/24
Tough bass bite for Ken Piil and pals aboard Sea Otter IV today. Pleanty of bluefish action.

Sat10/25
Tommy Hart and the boys were aboard Sea Otter IV today for some togging action. Decent day with Tommy Sr. weighing in fish to 7 1/2 pounds and Tommy Jr. scoring his first blackfish.

Aboard Sea Otter V, Pat and some guys from Peconic Ironworks were out mixing it up. They brought a bunch of sea bass over the rails and over two dozen triggerfish. They had a very consistent bluefish bite and ended the day with stripers to 18 pounds.

Sun 10/26
Sea Otter V ran as an open boat for blackfih out of Groton today. The boat nailed its limit with Big Frank bringing in his first keeper tog and then bringing another 7 over the rails -keeping only his limit. High hook was Mr. La with 12 keepers and Kit nabbed the pool tog at 7 1/2 pounds.

Wed 10/16
Awesome trip aboard Sea Otter IV from Montauk today for Mikey Waters and fellow firemen. Over 100 keeper sea bass over the rails kept things busy. Great bass fishing with the highlight being a pair of 42 pounders coming in.

Sun 10/19
Sea Otter V out of Groton had an outstading blackfish trip to report today. Louis Pedone and a bunch of pals from back on L.I. came out and easily brought in their limit of Tog. Over 100 keepers reeled in. Joe Noga was high hook with a dozen on his own and 1st time togger, Andy, nailed his limit and tipped the scales with fish between 7 and 9 pounds.

Unfort. this weekends winds shut a few charters. Please note that Sea Otter V sails Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon for blackfish from Groton at 8am-2pm. Call the office for any schedule changes and to book your private charters aboard Sea Otter Iv and V from Groton, Ct and Montauk, NY!

TOG, TOG, TOG!

Sat 11/1
Aboard Sea Otter V out of Groton, Chuck Gifford and his fishing club buddies from Queens chartered for some tog action. Tougher bite but Rabbit nailed the pool with an 8 1/2 pounder along with 5 keepers over the rails. Romeo was high hook with 8 keepers.

Sun 11/2
Out of Groton, the Sea Otter V sailed as an Open boat for tog and it was a phenomenal day! Limits all around with three fish weighing in over 10 pounds. Big Frank Kilanowski took in a 10 1/2 pound tog and Park hit the pool with his 11 pounder.

Aboard Sea Otter IV it was a private charter for Bum Kim, Mr. La and friends. Excellent day with limits taken and plenty of throwbacks. Lots of tog in the 8-10 pound range along with some Sea bass.

Sea Otter V runs open boat tog trips from Groton, CT Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon 8am-2pm, and is also available for private charters. No Tog trips from Groton this weekend

Due to unforseen circumstances we will NOT be running Blackfish trips from Groton on Sat 11/8, Sun 11/9 or Mon 11/10.

Hope to see you next Saturday or Sunday for an 8Am-2PM Tog Trip!
