I have recently discovered how delicious Sea Bass are, but just don't know where to catch them.

Any help? Places? Bait?

I am not sure about the North Shore areas but if you want to get throught the Shinne**** canal, just about any wreck or reef outside either the Shinne**** inlet or Moriches inlet will hold Sea Bass. For bait, clam and squid is my usual method with some clam chum in the pot to bring them to me.

There doesn't seem to be a consistant fishery for Seabass in that area, although they are caught at the Greenlawns, Brick Yard and by the Oyster Factory. The most consistant area seems to be east of the Ruins off Gradners Island. A Hi/Lo rig with 3-4" squid strips should work fine.

Thanks Hipshot. I picked one up at Greenlawns while fluking earlier, but just considered that luck.

East of the Ruins is easily done, though again, I am usually shooting for fluke.
