Hoping to flyfish for strippers off the beach which I have never done. Have had success in Jamica Bay on boat. Coming from NYC and interested in thoughts on were to go. Would like it if I didnt have to drive more for more then 45-50 minutes if possible. THANKS.

Tappan Beach
Tappan Beach is in Nassau County on the North Shore in Sea Cliff. I attached this map from map quest. At low tide you can walk 100-150 yards out into the harbor. I see guys fly fishing at high and low tide. FYI, no Bass caught there yet this fall except for schoolies.
