[BASSSURF]

My dad and I caught a bass a several nights ago and when we cut open the stomach it was filled with just sand. No fish, crabs, clams, just sand. Does any one have any idea why this would be

I've seen bass rooting sand eels out of the ground with their nose in the sand and tails flopping out of the water like bonefish.

sand isn't digestable

The sand they ingest stays behind in the gut whereas the food gets digested and "disappears" from the gut. I hope, eventually, they pass the sand too
