I finally got a chance to stop in this place, as Im in nassau county so I don't pass the West Islip area much.

If you have not been here yet it's worth the trip to check it out.
As I walked in I was greeted by a young man( forgot to ask his name).I explained why I was there and we chated a couple of minutes.

Then I walked around foe about 20 minutes amazed with everything this store carries, so so many lures you could go nuts.
I had no intention of buying anything, but I found a couple cheap lures I never tried so I made the purchase. This is a very claen very organized shop, so if you get the chance stop in.

Causway:) is mt local shop for the past 15 years, but if im in suffolk on the south shore, these new guys will get my business

I go there often and CHEVY is 100% right about the shop, Mike is knowlegdable and very helpful. I cant go in that shop without buying something because he's always got something new or a hard to find item. And we cant forget his sidekick Jose who is always making sure every item is where its supposed to be...

he's right around the corner from me
I was jumping with joy the day I saw the Saltwaters sign go up. Great location from a fishermans point of view being right before the bridge. He's worked real hard stocking the place up and has done a great job. Great bait selection too.

Saltwater Tackle

Just back from my second trip there this week. It is worth the trip just to DROOL over the elaborate wall display of plugs from many, many makers. I got one reel, 3 plugs, spro heavy swivels, BREAKAWAY FAST LINKS(both sizes), etc. An excellant stock of what is needed and can't be found along with Hats, Shirts and tops. I live right by an old established B & T, however this is right off the causeway so my bait is actually fresher by the time it is on the beach. I LIKE IT!

I was just in there the first time on Saturday after getting my paking permit at RM. That entire wall of plugs is something else. Great selection of plastics and tins. There weren't too many bucktails but there was alot of room for them so maybe they are just waiting for some stock. I will certainly be going back soon.

They still have alot of unstocked space so im sure a full bucktail selection would be on there list of things to do. And maybe a custom rod builder display other than that just a few more rods in stock and I think they are good to go

Hi all, well I also visited the shop yesturday a matter of fact. Very nice shop and great location. Walked around a bit and didn't bye anything. Anyway I noticed a very freindly presence but also noticed there prices are higher especially on WOODplugs. For the most part if you don't mind spending 2-3$ more on wood plugs it's a great spot. Tight Lines and Successsssssssss!

Benny,
Just curious, how exactly do you go into a tackle shop and not buy anything? Its like going to a strip club and not looking at the girls.
I's more like going to a strip club and not tipping the girls.

JUST BROWSING

LOL LOL
, it's not that .I have purchased my share of plugs, pencils and metal lips including a new VS275 during this long dragged out winter. I am looking for a new rod to go with VS and they didn't have what i was looking for. That same day I went to Northport rodnreel(closed) and to Terminal tackle. I visit shops all the time so I have to be careful what I buy. It's true it's like being in a candy store
. I'm just browsing
. FYI Saltwater Is a nice shop , wood plugs were a little steep but hey to each there own.>>>>>Martin

i finally got a chance today to check out saltwater tackle, very nice setup, very profressional and courteous guys, i think mike and jose, i went in to spool 3 reels, and buy a rod tip for one of my rods, (i was gonna put the guide on myself) but he took the rod from me, melted off the old guide and epoxied on the new one , the cost of having 3 reels spooled, and a new guide put on my rod was $10 , they will be getting repeat business from me, noreasters check it it if you havent been there.
