Tim Tower has a bunch of baha's on the bunny clark and after a couple of years of that duty they are still servicable. They have probably lasted better than any reel he has put into use. The down side of them is their weight and the fact that Penn will make no more of them.
Both good reels but the Baha is easier to maintain .

While a Saltist with aftermarket drags and bearings beats the pants off any star drag reel in its weight division, it actually runs into more money (not to mention labor) than Penn Baja, which can be head for $149.99 and free shipping from Charkbait this week. So, the question is, how much do you like your dad? And is he discerning enough of a fisherman to care which reel he gets?

Had seen the charkbait specials...

I keep the charkbait specials in my favorites... Just saw a couple of the saltists on ebay within $10 and free shipping as well. For the amount and kind of fishing he does, the Baja will probably be plenty of reel. Thats why I inquired. Still willing to listen to any other opinions. Thanks :)
