FYI- Coast Guard has no obligation to tow anyone in. They will respond only if there is an emergency. They will issue a MARB (Marine Assistance Radio Broadcast) and have a commercial service come get you at your cost. Be prepared to wait many hours- also have a sea anchor or anchor with sufficient line (5:1) in the event the weather kicks up.
