Ya, but now that officer is getting screwed. Sure looks like the guy on the bike was trying to play chicken. Hope there is no action taken against the officer.

NEW YORK (AP) -- A New York City police officer has been stripped of his badge and gun after a video posted on YouTube showed him body-checking a bicyclist who was part of a Times Square demonstration.

Witnesses say the incident occurred Friday at the Critical Mass ride, a monthly protest of urban reliance on vehicles.
The video, posted anonymously, shows the officer standing in the street as bikes whiz past. He moves toward the cyclist and violently knocks him to the ground in front of crowds of people.
Police have placed the unidentified officer on desk duty pending the outcome of a department investigation.
Police could not confirm witnesses' reports that the unidentified cyclist was arrested and released 26 hours later.

LOL - good for you, I've seen them at work when I left the office late on Fridays - they'll block the green light at intersections to allow the rest of the anarchists to cruise thru their red. They have no interest in bike safety, which is supposedly their mission statement.

WOW...dejavu...I nailed a messenger 2 weeks ago just like that on 7th ave & 23st. The idiot was going the wrong way against traffic and I turned my head and saw him....to late I had to NAIL him or he would of nailed me!

The guys that are the worst are the bike taxis in times square and central park area. We were working late last thursday I was going east on 59th st in traffic right in front of mickey mantles place it was bumper to bumper so me and my partner were in the truck and he says watch for this guy I think he means the guy in the car to my right 5 seconds later I hear a THUD a dam bike taxis hit the sit of the pickup I start to move forward my partner goes wait his tires stuck under the truck I go F that Cork soaker I move like 10' I bend his rim he tells my partner to watch where I am going my partner goes you hit us he looks down and see's his rim bent he was a russian guy and in the russian accent goes "I am broken" we LOFAO as he peddled to the curb. I cannot stand the bike riders in the city they are reckless and dont care if they hurt someone, what that video doesnt show you is what that guy did for that cop to knock the shyt out of him like that

I remember last summer my partner and I were driving south on 5th ave in the 40's when my partner looks in the side mirror and sees and bike messenger holding on to the side of the truck my partners slams on the brakes and pulls to the left the bike messenger went flying off his bike totally spilled all over the road I couldnt stop laughing my partner gets out and goes up to him and goes OMG are you alright he goes yeah i think so why did you swear like that my partner goes there was a dog in the road LMAO
