Many notable "misses" and some "WTFs?"

On the "Misses" I'd say Robin Trower and Steve Hackett. Also many of the blues "Founding Fathers" are missing, but they did get Robert Johnson.

On the WTFs, my biggest one is Joni Mitchell. I love Joni's music, but she's not a great guitar player; she plays the piano much better than she plays guitar...

I think there's a lot of "let's be inclusive and PC on the list, much to the detriment of the credibility of such a list.

And no Toggy, even though Jerry was a great guitarist, he sure as heck isn't the all-time best. IMHO, they at least the got top 5 correct, but you could argue about the order of the five.

Now you're making sense.
I too enjoy her stuff. But #72 on that list???
WTF is right.
Who decided who's on this list anyway???
WTF is Joan Jett doing there{87}?
Zappa is 45??????????
Now thats just plain ol silly.
I'm not a Van halen fan, but,
Eddie Van Halen @ #70 is insane.
That guy can forkin play.
Period.

LT,
I agree, Garcia should be way up there if not on top and Knopfler ought to get a boost up as well. Oh well, I doubt Jerry is to worried about it and Knopfler seems pretty comfortable with his talent.

That list came out 5-6 years ago and was, I believe, Pete Townshends view of the top 100 guitarists of all time.
Yup.
It's from '03.
Timeless though, because they said "Of All Time"

I agree.

And how does Richie Blackmore list at only 55? No way is Zapa better then him, or Jerry Garcia.
