Chris,

In the MARINE APPLICATION I have found Super Lube (in the grease form not the liquid form) side by side with vaseline works far better. Yes it is more expense but you get better results in the MARINE APPLICATION.

Use Penn grease or Cal's. I normally apply liberaly with acid brush. Also not a bad idea to remove the reel seat and screws and coat them heavily as well!, while your at it remove all of the exterior screws and pack the threads with grease then reinstall, if the screw heads are recessed try to cover them as well. I find if you do this you will never have a problem taking the reel down for servicing in the future.
