I fish from a boat and drift live bunker looking for bass. I'm looking for a solid rod in $100 - $150 dollar range. It will most likely be paired with an avet mxj fishing 20 lb mono.
Look at a BA30-7, very nice rod for your application, and in your price range. There are many options out there though. Maybe a nice calstar glass stick would do too.
A grafighter would be nicest, but is out of your price range.
I tried the Shimano Treval rods 2 years ago and use one for chinking and livelinig. Their new versions are expensive, but the original model ones are $99. 6'6 MH or M works well for me.
I use a lami bl7050lb I think.Don't let the line rating fool you.It is a live bait rod and is very light in the tip with a lot of backbone.A lot of places don't know about the rod.It is ment for live bait fishing. If you can get up to the rockland show next weekend all the manufactures will be there and you can pull on rod there.
