Hi,

Yes, others wish they had bought more of those green blanks. They are gone forever. And the price was right.

As far as blems, the good ones are history. The major blank manufacturers no longer release them. They destroy them. Unfortuneately, blems cost the factories $$$$ and some people were selling the blems as 1st quality.

Since I am not familiar with stores/shops that carry such blanks West of the Nassau Counry Line I have to ask others to post this info for you.

On the East end you can try Sea Isle and Donart in Freeport, Flynns LI Rod Crafting in Wantagh, Causeway Tackle also in Wantagh, Rodprof and I will have our booth at the NYSFF Feb 14,15,16.

If you can't find phone #'s send me an email

Hi DWK2252:
It will be tough to find shops that stock blanks. It's the cost factor associated with stocking such vast inventory. I have encountered the same problem. You will probably find my shoe prints in every tackle and/or rod building store from NYC to Montauk. Sometimes I mail order but I order enough blanks to make the extra shipping cost worth it. Sometimes I go in with friends to share in the shipping cost. What blanks are you looking for? I may have what you are looking for. I keep buying because this addiction is by far worse than drugs. But I still love building them.

I'm always into building something new
last year I made 4 rods with the Palmer wrap I repair old rods I used to love to go to Midland Tackle you could always buy cheap blanks to extend butts
repair broken rods and find great buys as well I built a Calstar Grayfighter
700L last year I'm looking into building a Graphite USA blank this year I really like building extremly light weight blanks but with plenty of power I had a 8 1/2 foot G loomis Cod rod which was extremly light but had plenty of power I got it from a west coast dealer who builds custom rods who totally botched this rod up for me it was a christmas gift from my wife get this he built the rod where the stripper guide was at least a 1/4 inch off center as well as a few guides that were way off center I would have sent it back butt it took him nearly 2 months to complete so I just had to have the guides realigned
that were off center I usually build my own but I no way can do some those fancy wraps I tried and still after all these 40 years of building have I yet to master a good diamond
