Tried a party boat for 4-hour porgy/sea bass trip out of Port Jefferson over the weekend. Boat was crowded but fishable. It should be noted that the trip out and back from Rocky Point will take around 2 hours in total so that leaves only 2 hours fishing time. This is more than enough time when porgies are biting but porgies usually will not bite on still water. So time your tides if you want fish. As it was I caught about 6 keeper porgies 1 lb to about 1 1/2 lbs and several throwbacks when tide began to move a bit, but many had one or none due to tide. <like href="http://www.noreast.com/postedreports/view.cfm?id=208615" send="false" show_faces="false" width='layout="button_count"'></like> |
