For years i have been researching and looking into how everyone like to rid their offshore lures.. i know everyone has their different little niches and they use small tricks...

Just figured this might be a good winter topic since everyone is getting ready for the upcoming season.

When you rig the end loop do you prefer a thimble either stainless or plastic or us chaffe gear and normal loop or an offshore loop.

When you set the hook to the appropriate spot on the skirt to you like to use an offshore loop, chaffe gear or just a straight single mono loop.

I have been using tri beads and offshore loops for a long time now.. i truly like the way the offshore loops give the hook the ability to not only run straight but to move as the fish makes turns and moves around.

I also like the double line going thru and think it makes it much much stronger.. As in my other posts i was going to start with the hooksets and the hook stoppers that guys like black bart make but still kind of liking the old fashion way which i love!

If anyone has an input for anything on this topic figured it would give guys something to try during the off season!!!!

Dude. Use the search feature, this horse has been beat to death!!!!

Just kidding! I think it's great how people keep jumping all over you and you just come right back like you don't even care. Good for you - nobody has to read or respond to a question they're bored with so what's the issue anyway?

I know next to nothing about rigging trolling lures though, I learned how a couple of seasons ago on a party boat (from the mate) and have been riggin my own since then, no failures yet (knock wood).

One thing I will add that you didn't mention, is that for the non-business end (the end you clip to your swivel) I really like the Profish Co. grommet ring system. They are really easy to use and quick to rig and for whatever reason the give me confidence. Give them a try if you're experimenting, I think you might like them too.

keep the posts coming!

I use the tri beeds to set the hook and use the spring type chaffing gear on the hook end. at the other end I use the grommets. I also have changed a lot of my leaders by crimping a small spro onto it and just tie the main line to that, basically it allows me to pull a much longer leader and it is now a wind on. That is how I did it down in NC for giants and it worked great.
