The following is the results on the First Annual Striper Derby on April 12th and 13th, located on the Hudson River. Assisted by the Hudson River Fishermen's Association, a total of 31 legal fish were weighed in over a two day period. It should be noted that all of the fish that came in alive were returned alive, via boat, out into the main current of the river. It also should be noted that the first place winner also released his fish alive. Therefore, not only did he win $1000.00 he also won the "Golden Rod" Plans are already being made for next year's tournament.

1st. $1000.00 Mark Linton, Striped Bass at 25.08 lbs 38.75 inches long Fish was released alive

It must have been fun to get the big ones..

and release them. Down by the marinas in the Palisades there is a steady pick of stripers up to 26 inches. I have not heard of any bigger. I did get a tommy cod Wednesday evening.I was surprised to see it. I
was told that they are rarely caught anymore in the Hudson.
