Why doesn't the state excavate the lake bottom and line the bottom of the lake with stone. This will protect the lake during droughts. Its a shame that nice lake is drying out all the time. If the lake was deeper it would good for trout and other fish. Bottom line: the state won't do anything for the Long Island outdoorsman but they eagerly collect park admission fees . All the LI parks run by the state collect fees while the parks upstate are free of charge to upstaters. They got free boat ramps all over the state. Captree boat ramp is $6.
