Montauk
I use to love going to Montauk but that traffic from South Hampton through East Hampton is one giant PITA, especially the weekends.
I think one of our sponcers even moved his boat to Conn becuase of that same problem.
Once you get there the fishing is great. Not to many places were you could limit out on 2-3 species in a morning session fishing inshore.
During the season the hotels are way over priced , granted it is a seasonal business but kiss me first before ,,well you now what I mean.
I used to put my own boat out there, in Gone Fising Marina after Labor Day for a couple of weeks when rates were better, traffic was less and genenrally you met more fisherman then tourist.
My last home port was Hamptons Bays before moving south and honestly the best port I ever had. Literally could fish once I left my Marina by the Ponquoge Bridge. Or take a 10 minute ride to the inlet and outside. Or shoot through the locks into the Peconics.
If I wanted to fish Montauk it was a 35 mile trip to the Point. I would rather do it by boat rather then a car even if it cost a few more bucks in fuel.
