The fishing on the charter boat relentless was excellent for size, and fair for numbers. We fished stellwagen with many other boats and i managed 8 or 9 keepers to twenty five pounds. My average fish was between 12 and 16 pounds. The biggest fish was 27 lbs. I'd definitely recommend the boat.
The fishing on the helen h sunday was pretty good. I had 40 keepers to 12lbs. I had my first 30 on jigs and the last ten on bait. Surprisingly, I caught many fish on the jig by simply letting it sit on the bottom, and the fish would attack the teaser fly. The pool fish was an 18lber caught by the only woman on the boat.

hey folks,
meirowitz, I started with a 16 oz, but by midday a ten ounce was holding just fine. I dunno why the picture isn't coming up, but you can see it at www.nauticaladventure.net , under fishing reports. I'll try it one last time. They caught a 51 pounder the next day. I'm hoping to get out once or twice before my vacation ends on monday.

heres one from sunday, 3/16 on the helen h.
I also fished the yankee fleet on thursday and sunday. I got no keepers the first trip and three on yesterday's, winning the pool with a little 11lb codfish. That ought to about sum up the quality of these trips. Either the water is too cold or there is some sloth in the mates concerning dropping down the anchor and bringing it back up ( we only made 4 or 5 stops, despite the bad fishing, because other boats seem to be doing jsut famously right now. I think i've had enough yankee fleet for now.

Which boat? If you're talking about the helen h, I'd highly recommend it. Great guys, fast, comfortable boat, and capt joe doesn't waste any time in moving the boat when there aren't any fish being caught. Their website is www.helenh.com .

Do you prefer a private boat like relentless where ther is a limit of only 10 cod or a headboat like The Helen-H where there is no limit in number and why? I usually fish on the Helen-H , but this year I am trying B-fast on Stellwagen ... I heard they get bigger fish and theres less hassle

Hey,
to tell you the truth, I like fishing on party boats more than on charter boats, because you can cast, can give the jig a longer sweep (or lay the rod on the rail and jig that way when you're tired), and because of the comradery on a bigger boat. As for fising, march and april are traditionally big fish months on stellwagen so good luck!

stellwagen

something sticks in my craw when you pay 1100 for a charter and watch them fill up on fuel for 50 bucks.gimme a break.stellwagen has some nice fish, but when the bait shows it is 3 dinks for every keeper.
