I need a new rod for my Penn International 30SW, and I am looking for any recommendations. I was wondering if any one has used any of the shimano rods or the offshore angler rods from bass pro shops. Or is my best bet just to get a penn rod. I want a good stand-up rod.

Hi,

If you are interested in custom, I build using Lamiglas, Seeker and Calstar.

If you are looking for a production rod check out Lamiglas and Seeker.

Right now I am building a demo custom, 50# stand up and it will be spiral wrapped (for stability) on a Calstar blank.

Hi,

I will have a Seeker 50# custom, 5'6", Aftco unibut, guides and tip top at my booths this Sat at Lindenhurst Fishermans Flea Market.

Am also bringing the Calstar 50# stand up that is spiral wrapped. It is almost finished and you can pull on it.
